Michele will continue on with her original business – “Kailua Living” and Vana will continue her hand-made “Jewelry by Vana Lynn.” Please follow them both on Instagram and Facebook.

Both Michele and Vana are vibrant and creative businesswomen, which is certainly reflected in their collections.

Michele’s plans are to continue events and home styling

Kailua Living future events will reflect an easygoing atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy your time looking for that extra special something for your closet, gifts for your friends, family and your home.

About Michele

Michele discovered her talent and passion for design at an early age. She earned an Applied Art & Design degree at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, then started hew own business in Kailua doing freelance work.
In 1997, Michele was diagnosed with retinal condition called Stargardt’s disease. She gradually lost her center vision and is now legally blind. Although faced with this challenge, she continues to persevere in her field. Through trial and error, Michele created an innovative approach to her art by developing a special method of hand making stamps, which has become unique to her style. Layering shapes with vibrant colors she now creates beautiful fabric designs, which are sewn onto pillows, table linens, bedding, pouches and hand bags.
Her products come in three variations: hand stamped, digital print and pre-print. She only uses quality fabrics, creating exclusive products that are inspired by the beauty of Hawai’i.

About Vana

Vana Lynn grew up in San Diego and is the designer and creator of Vana Lynn Jewelry. It all started when Vana visited Hawaii for the very first time. From her very first step she was so inspired by the soaring emerald colored mountain tops, the endless tranquil blue oceans, and the peaceful white sands that surrounded her. She began to recreate the “beachy lifestyle” into jewelry by incorporating the element of the sea and beaches such as shells, Oahu sea glass, puka’s and even pieces of coral. Vana Lynn’s collection is intended to bring out the traveler and beach explorer of every woman. Vana is inspired by all the hidden treasures found on the beaches and deep in the ocean, and she says, “When I wear a piece of my jewelry, I feel like a mermaid from the sea.”
